تكون هذا البحث من: مقدمة، وتمهيد، ومبحثين، وخاتمة. جاء في المقدمة الحديث عن: أهمية اختيار الموضوع، أسباب اختيار الموضوع، وأهداف اختيار الموضوع، ومنهج البحث، والدراسات السابقة، حدود البحث. ثم كان التمهيد مبيناً تعريف الاختيار لغة واصطلاحاً. تناول المبحث الأول: التعريف بالإمام مكي، وكتابه الرعاية، في مطلبين، الأول منها فيه التعريف بالإمام مكي، والثاني: التعريف بكتاب الرعاية. ويأتي المبحث الثاني الذي هو صلب البحث، بدراسة اختيارات الإمام مكي في كتابه الرعاية، في مطلبين، المطلب الأول تناول: اختيارات في مسائل تتعلق بمخارج الحروف، والمطلب الثاني تحدث عن اختيارات في مسائل تتعلق بصفات الحروف.

This research consisted of an introduction, a preface, two sections, and a conclusion. The introduction presented the significance and rationale of the topic, the objectives of the study, the methodology, previous studies, and the limitations of the study. The preface presented the definition of selections linguistically and idiomatically. The first section was divided into two units; the first introduced Imam Makki, and the second his book Al-Ri'aayah. The second section, which is the core of the research, was dedicated to study the selections of Imam Makki in his book Al-Ri'aayah. It is divided into two units: the first tackled selections in issues related to the articulation points of letters, and the second discussed selections in issues related to the characteristics of letters.
